ITEAM NETWORK RESCUES FANTASYUP PLAYERS; DRAFTKINGS TEASES UK LAUNCH … AGAIN

Daily fantasy sports players left stranded by the implosion of FantasyUp will be rescued by the iTEAM Network.

FantasyUp became the first high profile DFS casualty last month after it abruptly closed down while informing its players that it lacked the funds to (a) carry on operations and (b) refund its customers' account balances.

On Tuesday, Legal Sports Report 's Dustin Gouker broke the news that the iTEAM Network had made ??arrangements to acquire FantasyUp. Terms weren't disclosed, but iTEAM said it would relaunch the site on Wednesday and would “reinstate all players' accounts making all winnings and balances available to customers.”

iTEAM, a DFS turnkey platform provider whose partner skins include poker great Phil Ivey's new DFS operation PhilIveyDFS , said the resurrected FantasyUp would feature a new user interface. iTEAM also promised to establish “the requisite fiscal responsibility and back-end systems to ensure the site's viability for the future.”

  DRAFTKINGS TEASES UK LAUNCH

Meanwhile, DFS mainstay DraftKings is reportedly getting close to launching its UK-facing site. (Seriously, Charlie Brown. This time, the Lucy Van Pelt of DFS really means it.) DraftKings received its UK Gambling Commission license last August but the market launch has endured numerous delays , for which the company blamed the need to make necessary improvements to its UK-facing product.

On Tuesday, the DraftKings UK Twitter account claimed the operator would be “touching down in the UK very soon 'wink wink,'” which we assume means the site will launch in time for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Or sooner, you never know .

In the meantime, DraftKings is directing potential UK customers to its Draftkingsfc.com domain, where they can find numerous articles on the intersection of football and DFS, including many written by former CalvinAyre.com scribe Jamie Hinks .
